Ancient Cookery


Today we ate like ancient Celtic tribes and Romans. First up was a Celtic feast lunch (above), with roast chicken, bread, berries and wine (aka fruit juice).

Later we cooked Celtic oat cakes which we served up with cheese and slices of apple.



We finished off our day of eating with Roman honeyed dates.  Delicious but sickly.
