Contour Drawing

By R
This week we tried contour drawing. In this exercise a drawing is made without lifting the pencil from the paper until the drawing is complete. We also tried blind contour drawing - this time as well as not lifting the pencil we did not look at our paper at all.

R's subject was motorbikes

Cooking

Medieval Crafts

The children have been learning about paintings made from egg tempera in the Middle Ages. We made our own edible paints to decorate some crosses and other symbols.

We have also been studying the Plague. The children made these plague-doctor masks with paper mache over a balloon.

Crafts From Russia

This week we have been learning about Russia in the Middle Ages. The children made their own Fabergé eggs. It was hilarious watching them blow the insides out of the eggs shells.

They also made some Russian gingerbread men.

And had a go at batik fabric dying.
