Robots

We have been attending a robots club at our library with our friends. We recently got our own Edison Robots to experiment with at home. These are easily programmed with either printable bar-codes or by using the free software. They are compatible with Lego so you can build onto them.

A favourite game is wrestling robots.

They can also be made to track a line. We made our own track with black paint.

Portraits

The children have been practising portrait drawing.

Spring at Kings Park

Spring is coming here in Perth. We spent the day at Kings Park exploring the playgrounds and flower meadows.

Perth Science Festival

It's national science week! On Saturday we went into the city for Perth Science Festival. There was so much going on. We were there for 6 hours and we didn't have time for everything. There were experiments to try, creatures to touch, science shows, talks, explosions, telescopes, microscopes, games and even a mine tour!

Learning how to collect "blood"

You'd never know there was a fake mine under the city, used for training geology students.

Perth Zoo

We joined our friends for a trip to Perth Zoo to look at different animals in their habitats.

Our first highlight was the poo display!

Emu poo
Once the lions started roaring we raced off to have a look.

We saw the penguin feeding and touched the snakes.

The best part of the day was the elephant talk. The elephants had a game of football and did some drawings.

After walking around the zoo all day it was time for the nocturnal house before going home.
