Height Chart

As part of our project on ourselves the children have made their own height charts. They use both standard (cm) and non-standard measures. First we unrolled a long piece of paper. Then we glued on paper tape measures (available free at any IKEA store) along one edge. For non-standard measures L chose butterflies and R chose toadstools. We cut these using my Pazzles Inspiration cutter, but you could easily cut them by hand or use a sponge shape to print pictures onto the paper. The children made sure the shapes were evenly spaced when they stuck them down.

R uses toadstool cut-outs as non-standard measures
L uses butterfly cut-outs as non-standard measures

We then used the charts to measure ourselves in "toadstools", "butterflies" and cm.
