Southern Highlands And Coast Camping
We've just spent a few days camping. First we visited Shell Harbour on the NSW South Coast. We picked our camp-site for it's proximity to Jamberoo Action Park where we spent the day on the water slides and rides. Our camp was also on a great beach where the children practised their body-boarding skills.
We spent some time searching for shells and rock-pooling on the beaches.
For the second part of the trip we moved camp to the lovely and free Bendeela Recreation Area. The camp-site is right next to a great river for swimming in and also close to Tallowa Dam where you can swim in the lake and also see the fish lift which carries fish over the dam so they can migrate upstream.
The camping area is also not far from Fitzroy Falls.
Bendeela has a huge wombat population who wander the camp-site in the evening. We were most amused when they filled Dad's shoes with wombat poo!
