Red and Yellow Comets
This weeks Summer of Colour challenge was Red and Yellow. We have been learning about comets so we decided to incorporate that into our art piece.
First the children used a tooth brush to spatter white acrylic onto black paper to make a starry background.
Then we used a plastic ball cut in half and covered with paper mache for the head of the comet.
The children then glued on strips of cellophane for the comet's tail.

So much fun!!!
ReplyDeleteComets are a perfect match for this color pairing, and I love the project that you came up with.
ReplyDeleteOhhh, this is so wonderful to see them play!!. Beautiful, creative, out-of-the-world imagination with the sheer comet tail!. I would certainly ride it in a heart beat!. Bravo kids! And mom :).

These are gorgeous! They look like they had great fun. It's nice to see a smock that's almost as messy as mine :)
ReplyDeleteI adore that you did this with the children. What a fantastic project, I may even borrow it for my daughter, it would be a good inside activity now that winter holidays are upon me and the weather is rubbish.
