Birds Australia
This afternoon we joined some friends for a visit to the Bird Life Discovery Centre at Sydney Olympic Park. The children went bird spotting with the volunteers and used binoculars to get a better view. Back at the centre we saw some stuffed birds, nests, feathers and bones etc. The centre has a real time camera monitoring a nearby sea eagle's nest. We worked out what the eagles had been eating by examining the remains of their dinner. The children were also able to use the microscope to look closely at bird feathers.
