Toddler Computing Made Easy
L enjoys using the computer like her big brother but boy does it get annoying when she right clicks the mouse all the time. Here's a simple and low cost solution. All you need is a bit of stick on Velcro (hook and loop fastener). Just add a piece to the left mouse button and the child can instantly feel where to click. Sounds simple but it has amazing results, she has not clicked on the right button since!
To help with mouse control we have several games. I like this one which is on 101 Brainy Games CD rom available from Australia post shops. You can choose different levels of play; moving the mouse, moving and clicking the mouse, moving and double clicking the mouse and click and drag.
There is also Kneebouncers website which has games to practise keyboard and mouse skills for very young children. Sadly this site has recently made many of its previously free games subscription only.
