On sundays we go to a community garden, and work there for a while.

Foster Number 22 - No Ears Lizzy

Introducing our latest foster cat "No Ears Lizzy". Poor Lizzy had to have her ears operated on to remove skin cancer and she's only 3 years old! That's why it's super important to keep your light haired kitties inside. What she lacks in the looks department she makes up for in purrrsonality. Joondalup Festival 2018

The past 8 weeks we have been preparing for Joondalup festival by making costumes and lanterns with our home education group. Here we are setting out for the parade!

No Vacancies - Foster number 16!

There's no more room for foster cats here as number 16 arrives! Meet the delightful Irma. Totally not a hurricane, more like a gentle breeze. She's a little terrified right now, hiding out in the bathroom.

It brings the total number of cats in the house to 7 (5 fosters and our 2)!

Our Foster Babies

We're doing our bit for homeless and orphaned cats. We picked up these 7 week old kittens from Cat Haven. Well be fostering them for a few weeks until they are ready to be re-homed. Fluffy at the front is Columbus (the explorer). The 3 black kittens behind are (left to right), Holly (the tiny runt of the litter), Coal (the destroyer of furniture), and Sampson (the biggest and strongest with a thing for mice on elastic). The tabby is Tiger (who is the least tiger-like of them all and very shy).

These kittens are not ready to go yet but there are always cats and kittens at Cat Haven waiting to be adopted or fostered.

Kaleidoscope

Today we went to the Kaleidoscope lights festival. Not a good as Vivid Sydney of course but not bad for Joondalup! The library looked great with the rainbow serpent projected onto it.

Perth Royal Show 2016

Last weekend we went to Perth Royal Show. We managed to avoid the overpriced rides and showbags and concentrated on the free stuff instead. The children attended a kids cooking workshop where they made healthy muffins and snack balls. We found out how to become a police officer (above). The children rolled oats and ground wheat to make flour and made fresh pasta from dough.

We found out about lots of crops and farm animals along with sustainable gardening and geology of WA.

There was time for pretend shopping, climbing and the obstacle course.

We visited the heritage displays and the vintage machinery. The cat tent was popular as were the animal  petting pavilions. We also enjoyed the art and photography displays and live music.

We watched the grand parade, motorbike stunt team and fireworks.

11 hours later we were exhausted and bloated from the free tastings. Time to go home and we hadn't even seen everything!
