Wine glass bubble photograpy!

Today we did some bubble photography in a wine glass. We used extention tubes on the camera, and a flashbox to light it up.

More bubble photography!

 Today for my photography lesson, I was taking photos of bubbles on wine glasses. This is done using a bubble mixture, an external flash box, and a black tablecloth. These are the results:

Eyeball Photography 👁

 Today, we were doing photography of eyeballs. We even managed to get a picture of a cat eyeball (surprising, considering that the cats never sit still)!

This is a photo of my eye (L), taken outdoors.

It was quite difficult to get the eyes focused because the eyelashes kept being in focus, also it kept not being bright enough, so we had to put the ISO to 1600 to make it bright enough, also we had to use a torch some of the times!

Another one of me, but taken indoors this time.

I took quite a few of Columbus, because he was finally still enough to photograph!

Cat Photography! 🐈

 Today, I was doing some cat photography. You may not think so, but it is very difficult, as the cats will NOT SIT STILL. ARGH!

These are the two photos of one of our cats, Columbus. Here are two more, this time of Lizzy:

As you can see, the poor baby had to have her ears amputated because of cancer 😭.

Cat Photography: Lizzie No-Ears

 

Today I did some photography of our cats, but the only one I could keep still was Lizzie, so I decided to make a blog post using only her photos. I used my phone, and to get it black and white I used a filter, then edited them a little bit on Photoshop.

I tried this one when she was relaxing.

Using a slightly different filter this time.

And finally, Lizzie's eye, cropped to how it is from one of my other photos.

Flower Photography

Today, I took some photos of flowers.

 Today we did some flower photography from some flowers I've grown in my garden. The picture above is an edited photo (hue and saturation changed), of an Icelandic poppy, sweet peas, and some geraniums.

More hue and saturation edited sweet peas and geraniums.

And this is coastal pigs face. (Not sure why its called that).

Microscope Photography

 Today for my photography lesson, I was tasked to take three pictures using a 300x magnification digital microscope, and have people guess what they are. Answers are below.

Microscope Photography

 

Today we did some photography with my new digital microscope which can magnify up to 300x which I won from a Minecraft competition through the WA Maratime museum. We had to guess the 3 pictures.

I challenge you to guess what the 3 pictures are. Answers will be at the bottom (no cheating!)

Bit strange?!

Splash Photography

 Today, I did some splash photography for my lesson. It involved putting the camera on a tripod, filling a glass with water, and taking a photo at the exact time that a small mandarin lands in the glass. It was quite complex, and we had to use a special remote to trigger the camera, and have a backdrop. The setup also had a flash, which was out of the shot.

Sparkler Photography

This is sparkler photography - created using a lightbulb, a mirror, and a party sparkler. To get this effect, you will need your camera on a low ISO (100), and long exposure time, around 2 seconds at f/16. 

This was taken on a mobile phone, so you don't need a professional setup :)

Abstract Photography

Sparkler Photography

A little while ago we did some photography involving sparklers blu-tacked behind a lightbulb!

We set the camera to go for 2-4 seconds, giving a high enough exposure that you can see the light trails.

This is one in colour, but I prefer black and white.

Another black & white one, but with a reflection this time.
