Old Melbourne Gaol is piece of Melbourne's history and it's still standing today! It used to be a prison back in the mid-19th century and was home to some of Australia's most notorious criminals like the bushranger Ned Kelly. However, some prisoners were still kept in the watchtower cells for lockup and drunk tank until as late as 1994!
Nowadays, it's a museum where you can see what it was like to live in the prison. You can see the cells, the execution yard and even the hanging galleries.
