This week we have been practising our still life drawing skills. I set up a still life and then we tried drawing on tiny pieces of paper with pencils and on huge pieces of paper with charcoal. I encouraged the children to select a part of the still life to draw and not feel that they had to do the whole thing in 1 drawing. We talked about putting in the closest object first followed by the next furthest away and so on. I encouraged them to "jump over" the foreground objects and carry on the outlines of background objects on the other side.
