Taking a trip to AGWA

Today I went to the Art Gallery of Western Australia. This was an interesting picture, as I am studying the Kelly gang for a research project. This could be a useful resource for opinion-based information.

I also found this interesting, as it was very abstract while representing something completely unrelated. I also thought it looked quite interesting.

Saving the best for last, this chair was one of my favourite things in the gallery. It was beautifully crafted from wood, which is one of my passions. The detail was also intricate, shown below.

On The Gold Trail

This week we found out all abut the history of gold in Perth by taking the Gold Trail and visiting Perth Mint. The gold trail takes you to some of the oldest places in Perth. We don't usually walk around the city so it was exiting finding new places and admiring all the different styles of architecture.

The trail ends at Perth Mint where we took the tour into the museum and gold pouring area. We saw the World's largest coin; at 1 tonne it's made from about $60 million worth of gold.

R discovered that even if the gold hadn't been bolted down it was too heavy to carry away!

Foster Number 22 - No Ears Lizzy

Introducing our latest foster cat "No Ears Lizzy". Poor Lizzy had to have her ears operated on to remove skin cancer and she's only 3 years old! That's why it's super important to keep your light haired kitties inside. What she lacks in the looks department she makes up for in purrrsonality. If you would like to become a foster carer or to adopt this super friendly cat or any other cat or kitten please contact Cat Haven.

Spring-time at Kings Park

Today it finally stopped raining so we went to Kings Park to see the spring flowers and to play in the newly renovated Naturescape. The children loved the new cubby sculptures and the improved climbing ropes. It was even just about warm enough to get into the stream for dam building.

Marzipan Fruits

Lately L is getting into homemade sweets. We've had toffee and fudge; which were both delicious. This week she made marzipan from scratch and then shaped it into these fruits. Yum!
