Cooking and Eating

The children have been doing a lot of cooking lately. L had a cake decorating book out from the library and wanted to make these owl brownies.

R made rocky road ice cream with home-made chocolate sauce.

They also cooked up this delicious dhal and nan bread.

And a winter salad that neither of them would try.

A Cubic Metre

How big is a cubic metre? Well it turns out to be large enough to fit 2 kids inside easily! We made this cubic metre from rolled up newspaper sheets as part of a maths lesson.

Sweet in the Heat

Today it was 42C outside so R decided to make us a banana split with home-made chocolate sauce. The ice-cream started melting straight away!

L added to the heat problem by deciding to bake shortbreads. They were lovely with cream and cherry sauce.

Baking

The kids have been cooking unhealthy stuff as usual! L made these sugar cookies whilst R made an apple pie; with pastry from scratch too!

Yanchep National Park

We took a day trip to one of our closest national parks; Yanchep. We bush-walked the forest and gorge trails and joined a guided cave tour. There were plenty of birds and this lovely shingleback lizard along with kolas and a bees nest. It even has a pub serving proper pints of beer!

Kings Park

A couple of weeks ago we visited Kings Park and Botanic Gardens in the centre of Perth. There are some great playgrounds and amazing views.

Google Tour Builder Sydney-Perth Road Trip

The children have been using their travel diaries and photographs to record our road trip using Google Tour Builder.

To get the best experience of their tours use INTERNET EXPLORER to open the links, not Chrome. In this way you can fly over a 3D World.
