Fungus Foray

Today we joined our local young naturalists group for a fungus foray.

As well as fungi we spotted several bee's nests and these two sleeping Tawny Frogmouths.

Zentangles

The children have been trying out some zentangle patterns from a library book.

Junior Palaeontologists

It's school holidays so we had the chance to attend a fossil workshop at the University of Western Australia. The university has a small geology museum filled with rocks, minerals and fossils. After a look around the museum we went into the 1st year laboratory  to look closer with the microscopes and try a fossil excavation. We had the opportunity to see some fossilised mammoth fur under the microscope.

We had a walk around the university which is full of beautiful gardens and old buildings.

Nature Walk at Bells Rapids

We took a walk alongside the river at Bells Rapids. Many wildflowers are already in bloom.
