PlantBank Open Day

Today we went to the plant bank open day at the Australian Botanic Gardens Mount Annan. It was a really interesting day. We took a tour around the facility to see how the scientists worked at collecting, preparing and storing the seeds. There were lots of chances to examine plants, fungi and algae under the microscopes. We also saw displays of live animals and had a go at planting some seeds.

7th Birthday

Today L was 7. Here she is with some of her presents and the cake. She chose to spend the morning with her new Lego sets before a swim at the pool followed by pizza and ice-cream.

South Coast Camping Again

We have just returned from another camping trip in Murramarang National Park. As usual we took lots of beach and bush walks, and spotted lots of wildlife. This time we were lucky enough to see dolphins, seals and a whale in the ocean. We also got to know some very friendly kangaroos.

We also took a trip to Mogo zoo. The children fed the giraffes and deer.
